  • anne bowring help please

I was helping a friend with her tree. So far we have Anne Bowring b mar quarter 1864 Radford Notts. And she was an unmarried mu with Blanche Ethel b mar quarter 1888 Nottingham.
I dont have access at home to the census but when I was at the library I worked out that her father is Nicholas Bowring but everybody on genes who has this Nicholas in their tree doesnt have Anne Bowring. So am I wrong?
I was looking for either Blanche ethel or Ethel BLanche in 1911 but couldnt find her unless she had married by then.
Any help appreciated. No certificates have been bought for this tree yet but it is certain that these two are the right ones.
(correction, she married 1914 to William Joseph Humphreys)

    1901 census for reference RG13; Piece: 3182; Folio: 183; Page: 1.
    Annie Bowring c 1865 Nottingham
    Blanche E Bowring c 1888 Nottingham

    - shows Annie as a widow?

Can't find them in 1891 at the moment. Do you have the reference?

        OK found her in 1891 RG12; Piece: 2690; Folio 129; Page 18;

Nicholas Bowring c 1821 Mansfield, Nottinghamshire - head
Hannah Bowring c 1833 Eakering, Nottinghamshire - wife
Annie Bowring c1864 Nottinghamshire listed as daughter - single
Ethel Bowring c1888 Nottinghamshire lister as grandaughter

1871 shows an Annie Bowring with father Nicholas - so it looks as if it is the same family (although possibly Hannah shows as mother in the 1891 census is his second wife as 1871 shows wife as Mary).
        Class: RG10; Piece: 3502; Folio: 44; Page: 32

        Householdbers:
        Nicholas Bowring 50
        Mary Bowring 49
        Louisa Bowring 24
        Emma Bowring 21
        John T Bowring 17
        Arthur Bowring 15
        Mary A Bowring 12
        Elizabeth Bowring 9
        Anne Bowring 7

Two marriages that are possibly the same groom

Nicholas Bowring-Mary Wright 6 July 1845 St. Peter, Mansfield. Notts

Nicholas Bowring-Annie Holland 15 Jan 1872 St. Luke, Sneinton, Notts.

might be worthwhile looking for a Mary death???

thank you all for confirming what I had thought. Just seemed a bit strange that the ones on genes (probably just copied and pasted from each others) dont acknowledge Anne but have all her siblings. Perhaps she was disowned!!

I guess it just depends on how much 'digging' the people have done ( or can be bothered)....lol...

And as has been said on another thread, some people go straight up their tree and don't bother looking sideways.
