    I know they have masses of stuff, possibly too much to mention here

      Basically, they have national, not local records. EG records of the army & the navy, but not parish registers.

      There are lots of websites to which you can gain free access there - like Ancestry & FMP - but for births marriages & deaths you would still have to use the appropriate website to order a certificate.

        thanks for your replies, i was just wondering about kew as i keep hearing people mention it, i am a member of ancestry so i get a lot of info from there, when i watch who do you think you are, you always see them going into some record office that seems to have everything so was wondering if it was possibly kew
