I wonder if anyone can help?
My gt gt grandmother was a Sarah Ann Sharples b.1839/40 in Rochdale.
They lived in the Castleton area.
Sarah had an illegitimate son, William b.1859 in Rochdale, before marrying George Edwards. She had a further three children with George including my gt. Grandmother, Alice Edwards b 1875 in Rochdale.
I have Sarah Ann in the 1861 census with her mother, named Sarah who was head of the household aged 57 b. Rochdale. Sarah Ann, her son William and mother Sarah were living in the Castleton area.
Piece: 3037; Folio: 32; Page: 20
I can't seem to find either Sarah or Sarah Ann in the 1851 census or 1841 census. Can anyone track them down? It may give me an idea if there were any siblings or Sarah Ann's father?
Thanks
Tracy
