  • Another stoopid question re AVG:

I have recently ditched Windows One Care in favour of AVG.

I'm very impressed at the amount of 'rubbish' it's detected - but - are all of these threats automatically zapped? I have one 'potentially dangerous' threat' (MBS 8) in the Virus Vault - do I have to do anything, or is it trapped for all time? Also, if I empty the Virus Vault, is that wise?

Sorry to be such an idiot! :o

Hi Oscar......yes it is trapped in the virus vault forever, unless you let it out.

Things are put there, because sometimes removing them removes part of a legit program. (Depends on how the virus works). Once they are there the virus cannot harm your computer. Once you find that everything on the computer works okay, it is safe to delete them.
