The NEW? Ancestry birth registers?

I have just read on another thread about these. Can someone enlighten me please. I must have missed them. How can they have births showing that weren't on the original list

I'm sure this is a stupid question, so I apologise in advance :o

They are an indexed transcription of the complete images.
If you remember before you had to search quarter by quarter, year by year - well now they are fully indexed so you can just search by name.
