  • Emma Sharman . Norfolk or Suffolk born?

Frederick Charles Sharman b 1858 Norwich is on 1891 - 1911 censuses with wife Emma.

    Emma b 1860/61 Aldborough Norfolk on 1901/1911
    Emma b 1860 Aldeburgh, Suffolk on 1891.

The only marriage I can find for them is June 1889
    Norwich 4b 261
    ...Emma Sophia Mallett.
Their first child was born 1891.

I cannot find Emma on previous censuses or a birth.
    Aldborough Norfolk comes under Erpingham.
    Aldeburgh Suffolk comes under Plomesgate.

    Thanks

aha , well done Jeanette, so she changed from Russell to Mallett thro parents marriage.. No wonder I couldn't find a birth. LOL. I will of course have to check your refs etc out first tho :p

                Susan.
                I hadn't until now.
Jeanette's census references for 1861 gives Emma Born 1860 Alborough, Norfolk which is just what I'm looking for.

Wonder why he dropped the Mallett bit??

The Son LISH on the 1861 could be RICH?? I found a birth for Mallet, Richard Russell for Sept 1854.

Just at the minute I can't get round my head why some are born Russell and Some Mallett.
Will have a good look tomorrow when I'm less tired.

I spent quite a while last night trying to fathom that one out too Kat. It might have helped if I'd have been able to pin George down in 1841 but I couldn't :( I thought the answer might lie with his parents

You know that John Mallet (possibly brother) who he's lodging with in 1851? Well, I didn't finish completing the search cos I was knackered but, his wife seems to have disappeared by 1861 (possibly dead) and I can't find John for definite but, the child Maria was listed as a niece with a woman whose maiden name was Mallett (can't remember her name now). and then I think Maria....or was it Elizabeth?...was listed as a niece with another couple in 1871 but I couldn't work out who those people were
