Dear Elaine, It's very possible that William was born in Pontrfract. I rec. an email tht shows in 1871 William was with his parents Ann and William and a brother Charles. I've also rec. a post that the brothers were born in Yorkshire and the parents in Staffordshire. So I have no idea which is right.
Of course being from the USA, I'm not sure how close these different towns are.
Thanks for all your help

I do have all the info on Lavinia and her family going back to the 1500's. I was able to connect with a gentlemen in England who happens to be a 2,3,or 4th cousin (I'm having a little trouble figuring that out (-: ) and he had so much info on the Dunwell family. The problem I'm having is the Williams side.
I posted this before but very possibly put it in the wrong spot, so will just redo in case I goofed on the 1st reply. Granddad William Ernest Williams ( in 1 census he was listed as Ernest) had 4 siblings: Arthur 12/05/1889, Charles Hayden 08/05/1892, Gladys Evelyn 09/02/1895, Albert Edward 01/29/1898. According to a post I rec. through genes unlimited, Albert may have been born in Ireland. I'll be so happy when I finally figure out how to work on this ancestry info effectively. It's so exciting that I'm losing sleep over it. Last thing I do at night and the first thing I do in the morning. Of course in between I go to grandchilrens sports events, visit my husband in the Vets Home (67 and with advanced Alzheimers) and do scrapbooking.
Thanks again for all your help

Hi again Elaine, I see you are on line so thought I would let you know about my tree. I do have one with over 300 people through Ancestry. I'm now working on Genes Unlimited but only have around 100. Does FF have a place to post a tree? If so, I would sure be willing to do it.
All I can say about FF is "You guys rock" What a gift to us.
