    Clever girl found my missing Whittakers mistranscribed in 1911.

    Thankyou thankyou, it WAS them! I managed to check the household using that trick before I opened the image.

    I have submitted a three hundred word error report, lol.

    And another child to find, deceased by 1911, no one knew anything about this.

        No, UJ, I don't!

        It is particularly infuriating as they are INDEXED as Whitaker, with one "t". But both the transcription and the image have two "Ts".

        I searched under both spellings of course, but didn't account for the fact that Jessie has been transcribed as Lessie.

        Still, all's well that ends well, ha ha!

          Well of course!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Lessie is a much more common name than Jessie....lol

            I did try Iessie, but they always catch you out with a mistranscription you hadn't thought of!
