Oh 'eck, here I go again.........

I've just downloaded the free trial from the above and it says that the 'Resident Shield Component' is not active and I am at risk.

I've ticked the box for it to activate, but no joy because if I go into 'Windows Security'and check 'Security Status', it tells me that Malware function is on red and that AVG Anti-Virus is turned off.

Help please.......... don't know what to do.

Will check back later, otherwise in the morning.

Some points of interest that must be followed...

The AVG installation must be performed by a user account that has full administrative rights.

When re-installing you MUST use the latest AVG install file. The following is the recommended method to re-install.

    1. Download the latest AVG Free installation package from [free.grisoft.com]
    2. Run the AVG Free install file
    3. Choose the Uninstall option and follow the setup wizard, when you get to the part to remove user settings, select it.

    try this
    4. Restart your computer then...
    5. Now reinstall AVG using the setup file you got in step 1 and update it.
