William Hatch b.c1827 (not definite) Gainsborough, Lincolnshire (from later census'). The only william hatch for lincolnshire in the 1841 census (b.1821) is a clerk living with a blacksmith. In 1851 the only william hatch (b.1821 and a different place of birth within lincolnshire to 1841) is a merchants clerk and lodging with a different blacksmith. My definite william is a stonewall builder from 1861 onwards til his death in 1880. Could this be my man?

It seems unlikely, but I suppose it's possible if he decided he didn't like being a clerk or was no good at it.
