I downloaded a page opened it in picassa then emailed it to myself, where I then opened it up and copied it and pasted it in word, then strecthed to fit, not very sharp though.

An original page of what? 1911?

I just save them to my hard drive. If I wanted one printed I would do it from there........why do you have to email it to yourself?

I couldn't understand why you e-mailed it to yourself.

I do the same as Merry too.

Same as Merry - just saved them to Desktop and printed each one out. They are filed away now!

                I don't understand why either.

I too just save them to my documents then open them up and print them.

Maybe it depends which version of Piccassa you have

When I save images to the hard drive and then open them, they open in a separate window from which it doesn't seem possible to print

                      Joan

I don't even have picassa in my computer. All of my images open with Windows picture and fax viewer.

Did you save the document to your hardrive? In other words, did you download it from the 1911 site?

I wonder whether that is because I had it open on my PC, Margaret ? :o

Hi Margaret, I don't even know what picassa is!

When I open in documents I open with 'Microsoft Photo Editor' go to 'image' & rotate, then go to 'file' & print to fit page.

                            I have XP professional.

On the 1911 page after you clicked to view the original image, did you then click on download?

It then asks to save or open.

I clicked save. Then it asked where to save.

I then clicked desktop and made sure it was a j.peg file.

Then I went to my desktop and double clicked and it opened. I then clicked print at the bottom of that page.

Thanks, Margaret - that's much better than mine :D

I'll play around and try to save it another format.

                                  Hi Viv

I can't understand why Joan and Pauline are having to do it that way either.

You must save as a j.peg because its an image file.

I'm not sure I have saved my images as jpegs -probably in too much of a rush :D - I'll go back and look.

If you go back to the 1911 site and look in "my records", you can download them again. It won't charge you again.

Click on view and then download.
