  • apart from a trip to library....

    hi,

apart from taking a trip to library to view the old local newspapers does anyone know of anyway of finding out about an incident that happened in 1996?

i cant go into names etc as there are still living relatives. BUT the house my best mate owns is reported to be haunted by a lad that got killed, his body was kept in the house for 2 weeks until the hurse came for funeral. my mate has never had any problems etc with ghosts BUT she recently got a dog and at the same time 10:45-11am every day he goes loopy and barks like mad - he is sitting staring at the same piece of wall/ceiling area every time. this happens whether my mate is in the house or not - so not cos he on his own.

my mate was wondering if the dog can sense a presence that us humans cant and if this is the case IF this was the time the lad was killed etc.

    thanks

I doubt the newspaper articles would give a time of death, even a news report into the case is unlikely to mention specific times unless the whole case hinged around some controversy about the timeframe. Court transcripts would probably reveal something but they are not public records.(?)

I would hazard a guess that the death cert would be fairly vague too, at best the certified time of death might be given but i suspect a more accurate time is unlikely.

thanks glen, i know what you mean. there was a big story about hhow he died etc. i did say to heer death cert isnt likely to have a time on it.

she has no interest in this lad or his family etc, it is purely to try and work out if this is why the dog is barking.

My local newspaper has a searchable archive section, going back to 1995. Is it worth checking your local paper to see if they have a similar feature?

They would have to be a bit careful about the relatives but perhaps the newspaper might be interested in the story relating to the dog.

A sort of canine Derek Acorah story without giving away information about the house and the circumstances perhaps? It sounds like i'm making light of the situation but if the paper wanted something unusual there could be some way to handle the story in a sympathetic manner.

            will suggest it to her.

she initially thought it was because he was bored so she bought him aload more dog toys, made no difference. wondered if it was cos she was at work but he does it on the 4days she doesnt work. questioned if the postman, but he never comes at same time - varies from 7:30am to 3pm so not that.

today when he started she was on phone stood in kitchen and said no-1 walked past window and there was no noise from her neighbours houses. it really is very strange. when she rented the house out a few years ago 1 of the tennants said that there was a ghostly presence in the hallway, but no-1 else has ever picked up on or felt anything until she got the dog.

Not forgetting that dogs have a wider hearing-spectrum than we do.

Could there be something, at a much higher frequency, that is time-dependent?

went into paper online and as you say the archieve goes back to 1995, great i thought, apart from every date i click on post 2000 says there was no paper printed on this day, please refer to micro-fiche! so on the line of paper for info its going to be a trip to library.

it really is strange. IF we find an answer will let you know.
