adding laptop to current set up

I have a normal desk top pc with windows xp. Am looking to get a laptop with vista and have been told that my wireless router will have to be plugged into my existing speedtouch modem. Is this correct, does anyone know? The modem doesnt seem to have anywhere for another lead to be joined so if so will I need a new modem?

Do you already have a wireless router ?? or is it something you will be purchasing at the same time as the laptop...

If it is the latter, then you will require a router with an ADSL modem built in which will then replace your speedtouch

Thanks for your reply. No I dont have a router yet, assume I will buy this at the same time as the laptop. My modem at the moment is supplied by Orange, so will my desk pc still be okay with a new ADSL modem?

As long as your desktop pc has a network port you will be fine...
