  • Help with my granddad please

Hi. I am trying to find the sisters of my granddad and have been for ages now but not getting anywhere. Can anyone help please.
Im told he had 2 sisters, one was called Alice.

Granddad Eli Francis young dob 18/6/1900
    Father waler young occupation Miner
    Mother Sarah A groucutt
these details are on my granddads birth cert.
I believe my granddad and his sisters spent some time in childrens homes but as yet have not found anything there.

I have found the following but do not think they are correct.
Walter young born abt 1873 kingswinford
Sarah ann groucutt born abt 1870 walsall
    these 2 have 3 kids....
    alice g young abt1888 walsall
Alfred Young abt 1897 walsall (just got his birth cert, different parents)!
    then my granddad.

I am really struggling, if any one could help as i am not a member of any census site etc its difficult, i would be very grateful.

I will on and off here all weekend.

    Thank

    deb ;)

          Hello
have found that Eli was Frank in the 1901 census for Walsall
          Details are:
Walter Young age 28 Collier b. Brierly Hill Staffs
          Sarah A age 32 b Walsall
          Alice G age 13 b Walsall
          Alfred age 4 b Walsall
          Frank 9 months b Walsall

Somebody's probably beaten me to it. They're all so fast round here

Allan. Yours sounds promising, however you have the surname as youngs when mine is young.
I know it could be a typo but the rest looks good.
I have never been able to find a marrage for walter and sarah, she could have been married before!

p.s i appreciate everyone looking into this for me, thank you :D

Possible births for the older children (Alice is Alice G on the census, and there's no matching birth for an Alice G Young):

                    Births Dec 1887
                    Groucutt Alice Walsall 6b 665

                    Births Jun 1897
                    Groucutt Alfred Walsall 6b 730

In 1891, Sarah Grocott (daughter-in-law) is living with Sarah Grocott (widow) and her 6 children, including a 6-year-old Alice, but I think she's too old to be the 13-year-old Alice G Young from 1901.

The Sarah A Young shown as Walter's wife in 1901 is 32, born in Walsall.

The Sarah Young daughter-in-law in 1891 is 23, a potter's gilder, born in Stoke.

In 1901 Alice is 13?, born in Walsall.

The Alice in 1891 is 6, born in Fenton, Staffs.

So I don't think they're the same people.
