    Free BMD is showing a registration in 1919 with a correction to 1924
    the parents names are the same in both cases, I cannot find a marriage for them either, so is he born in 1924 or 1919?
    If it was 1924 directed to 1919 I could understand but it appears to be the other way.

    I would guess at born in 1919 and re-registered for some reason in 1924.

      And whichever reference you order from the GRO you will only get the second certificate. A local RO might be more accommodating perhaps.

        Possible illegitmate birth in 1919 to parents who married later - even though both parents on birth registration the child would still remain illegitimate.

        So its possible that the biological father did an adoption after marriage so that the child would still have inheritance rights or just an adoption and no marriage. Because illegitimate children still to this day have no rights over their father's estate unless specifically mentioned in a will.

        Just a thought - could be something entirely different in this case.
