I don't think it can be, Margaret as I think these are their birth registrations:

            Births Mar 1877
Souter Emily Edith Wandsworth 1d 726

            Births Sep 1875
Kite John Edward St. Olave 1d 223
Kite John Edward St. Olave 1d 228

But those are not helping! lol

I didn't look for their births Merry, just looked on the 1901 census.

Has anyone found them on any census so that we know where they were born?

Interesting that there's another Kite-Souter marriage in 1911. 3 Kite children with mmn Souter were born after 1911, two of them in the same quarter, but not with consecutive numbers, so they can't have been twins. Maybe one of them belonged to your family?

Sheila, When the 1911 census is released it might be easier to pick up more children. However, after 1911 there must be more then one Kite/Souter couple as there are these births registered:

                      Births Dec 1912
Kite name removed Souter Fulham 1a 601

                      Births Sep 1915
Kite name removed Souter Wandsworth 1d 1266
Kite name removedSouter Wandsworth 1d 1237

as the last two births are presumably from different families!

Thank you for that, I have a Emily Edith Souter (who is my Great Grand mother's sister )Married John Edward Kite in Wandsworth in 1896--- then to make matter more complicated Emily's niece Annie Frances B Souter also married a Kite, George H Kite in 1911 in Fulham I do not know if the 2 men are related. hence asking for your Help I hoped that your fresh eyes could sort this out :o

I bet the two Kite men are related, but without knowing which George H Kite married the niece it might be easy to make an error. There are so many births for people of that name and I've come to realise Kite is a name very easily completely mistranscribed on the census, so without George's age and father's name I wouldn't like to try and work this out!

Obviously they could be brothers, but they might be uncle and nephew or cousins or whatever.......
