bought new Dell PC today man in shop told me which USB Wireless adaptor I would need but it would not install so when I looked at the box it says its for Windows 200 and XP new PC is Vista , just to clarify before I go back with it tomorrow is there a difference in these ????

hi I have a pc in the garage with the wireless router on it but was going to use this new PC indoors till my laptop gets fixed again ,but as it isnt wireless he told me we would need this adaptor to pick up the signal from the router ??? But it only say Windows 2000 and XP on it ,
I did try to let the PC find the drivers without using the disc but got a message saying error it couldnt find any .Last edited by Guest; 08-01-09, 22:51.Comment

If the box for the adapter doesnt state it is for Vista then you have effectively been mis-sold that product..
There may well be Vista drivers available for it if you were to search online, but you have been sold the adapter by someone knowing that you wanted it for a Vista PC, and they should know better than to try and shift a product that is (in its boxed state) incompatable...Comment

funny thing is he insisted on getting the bits we needed himself so he chose it not us I wish now I had looked at the box myself as its another long ride .
