  • Have a look in the Stories Memories & Histories section on ancestry

There is a tab on ancestry for "Stories & Publications", and one of the sections in there is called "Stories, Memories & Histories". I thought it was only for family stories submitted by members, but having idly done a search for one of my family names, I see there is all kinds of stuff in there, definitely worth a rummage from time to time. For instance, some of the PCC Administrations (Admon) Indexes, Calendar of Wills for Bristol, "Abstracts of Gloucestershire inquisitiones post mortem returned into the Court of Chancery in the reign of King Charles the First", Burke's Landed Gentry... and there are some parish register transcripts in there too; no idea why they decided to put them in there rather than the "parish and probate" section!

Then you'd be able to find them Kate. Where would the fun be in that?

As to the rest, it sounds like it could be worth a look.

I've used those records occasionally, because they include some newspapers (not very legible) and the Dictionary of National Biography, if I remember rightly. Didn't know there were any parish records among them.
