  • 2x Norfolk '51 lookups and maybe a '61 please

Can someone help with Norfolk lookups please?

John Curson, abt 1793 Beetley, Norfolk in the '51 and '61

And an 1851 to hopefully confirm a pre 1837 marriage on freereg!

Is there an Ann Kendle, abt 1798 Beetley? (fingers crossed hubby is Joseph).

    Thanks

        Thanks for looking Sue

I'm stabbing in the dark a bit with this lot at the moment. The Hastings name could be a clue but for the life of me i can't find the marriage where the Hastings name was a witness now :o Typical!!

I seem to have a set of baptisms that match the names for the children above.

Just adding them for use tomorrow

        10 Feb 1826 CURSON George
        25 Nov 1827 CURSON Mary
        22 Nov 1829 CURSON E_g*
        07 Sep 1834 CURSON Anne

Mum is recorded as Jane in every case and there is an 1834 burial (18 Sep 1834) that seems to match Jane too.

Are you talking about Joseph Kendle marriage to Ann Curson 22/10/1825 at Beetley?

Ann bapt 05/03/1798 of same parents as your John Curson

did a quick search no Joseph Kendle 1851 census or Ann Kendle
I have John bapt 01/10/1826 son of Joseph & Frances Kendle at [Beetley]
wondering if Ann died & Joseph quickly remarried.
look who is witness at Joseph & Ann's marriage in 1825
            Francis
            WitnessOne Frances PERKINS

can get this checked out for you to see if mother of John is correct.

I wondered if they appeared as a couple in the census and was hoping the dates/places given from any '51 entry would help.

At present the only clue is the forename of a witness being Susanna. Perhaps the sister, Susanna bapt 1803?

                  Well the date isn't quite spot on but there is this possible Anne Kendle burial at Beetley;

Anne Kendle aged 32, burial date 21 Oct 1828

                      Hi Joan

                      That's the one.

John = son of John Curson and Mary Neave

Jane Cook= daughter of Simon Cook and Rose Groom.

I have found the baptism for John and Jane, probable burials for them and marriages for both sets of parents.
