  • Is there anybody there?

Can anyone find these in 1901?

Joseph Chaston born 1857 watton, Norfolk

wife Emma c 1865 Carbrooke, Norfolk (nee Ainger)

    Lily May 1890 Carbrooke, Norfolk
    Alice Marion 1891 Carbrooke, Norfolk
    Rosa Violet 1893 Carbrooke, Norfolk
    Ethel Mary 1895 Carbrooke, Norfolk
    Leslie Joseph 1898 Carbrooke, Norfolk

    They married 15 Feb 1890.

I have a family in 1911 living in Wokingham, Berkshire which I'm pretty sure is them but I wanted to confirm them in 1901 first as the 1911 group only have Leslie and Ethel and a younger child so I"m not 100% without seeing the birthplace.

All the birthdates come from parish registers

Joseph wasn´t with the family on the census ref I gave.

I wonder if this is him in Wokingham?

Not sure you can - at least I know people have had problems.
Do you not have the option to revert back to the old search method - I´m still using that.

okay - next lot of Chastons

I have an Isabella Winnie Chaston born c 1848 living with one of my family groups

I have no idea who she is or where she's come from

Family she is living with is:

                John William Chaston c1864 Islington

wife Elizabeth 1869 Notting Hill (nee LEA)

Frederick Chaston 1891 Islington (aka William John)
                Florence Lea Chaston 1893 Islington
William Frederick 1895 Islington (aka Frederick John)

I can't find anything for Isabella Winnie on FreeBMD

What's Isabella's marital status and place of birth?

place of birth I can't work out - it's not Islington!!

She's a widow, but I've a feeling this may be a mistranscription as she's not showing as a relation but as a boarder

There's an outside chance she's a second wife to John William's father who is John Chaston c1835, Watton Norfolk. His wife Sarah died in 1895. It's probably going to have to wait until I can afford to get the image

John c1835 is brother to my 2 x great grandmother so it's only a twig - I was just intrigued as she's appeared from nowhere

Are you looking at an image or a transcription? I'm wondering if the surname of the person above her has been used for her in error?
