  • Desperately seeking George...1901

I had this slippery little fella before the pooter died and both his earler 1901 appearance and the old pc are now history:(

George Hay b1880 East Hartlepool, Durham. Not sure of the county of residence (Kent or London area somewhere) and a soldier.

    Can anyone find him please?

Apparently he went on to become a major and married twice, some connection to the Indian Army according to a family rumour. Nothing comes up via a google search, any suggestions for that line of enquiry too please?

      Thanks for looking Nell

Same result as me i'm afraid, doubly irritating because i know i had the details before and only recently did i discover he may have stayed in the forces which explains why there is nothing in the post 1901 bmd for a marriage that i can find (six wrong certs before this potential lead :o).

I think he could be one of the few that the 1911 census might help with, the irony is that if he did follow a military career then he is the one and only member of the Hay family who did to any degree.
