  • Bennett - Bunnell marriage Cheshire

    Hello

I found a marriage for my 4xG Grandparents John Bennett and Mary Bunnell in Chester St Oswald in 1840.

I was just wondering if someone can find them on the 1841 + 1851 census to see if i defo have the right marriage which should match with the kids they have.

John Bennett was born in c1817 in Christleton Cheshire and Mary was born c1818 in Barrow Cheshire i believe.

    Any help would be fantastic

Danny, finding them on the censuses won't prove you have found the right marriage, unless you are lucky enough to find they have some inlaws with them - you would need the birth certificate of one of their children to check the mother's maiden name.

Im going to the records office tomorrow to find the marriage which shouldnt be too difficult which will hopefully give me the fathers names which will narrow it down with the Bennett side at the very least.

The census will just help me with address more than anything.

Well then, could you perhaps list their children who you do know of, to help with searching?

The children i know of are - Eliza, Mary, Samuel, Ann, John, George, Thomas, Edward and Annie.

Elizabeth being the first known born was born in 1842 and then there is a 4year gap untill Mary in 1846.
I checked all these births in the Archives.

When you go to Chester ask them for the Cheshire marriage CD.
I can't remember the name but it starts with a B and has loads of early marriages on it.
If it's to be, it's up to me.

                  Cheers Jeanie

I will ask for that, might be quicker than the alternative.

In 1851 there is a Samuel Bunnell c1841 Cotton Edmunds, Cheshire - listed as a Nurse Boy with the Nield family listed above the Bennetts.

                        Elaine

One of the kids is named Edward and i found a birth for a Mary Bunnel/Burmel born in August 1819 with the father Edward and mother Mary.
                        This was in Tarvin Cheshire.

A couple of months earlier in March there is a marriage between Edward Bunnell and Mary Houghland.

Now ive only made note of these so that i can research them tomorrow but in your opinion do you think there worth jotting down?

I will also look into the Samuel Bunnell.
