  • Having trouble finding...

    A marriage between

WILLIAM Henry Edwin SIME & MARY HALL

William was born in Scotland Dalkeith 1845
Mary Hall born in Steventon Hampshire 1847

Ther first 3 children were born in Battersea oldest/first child in 1868, other children were born in Fulham or Chelsea.

    Any Ideas please?

I can see a Gateshead marriage for a William SIME in Sep-Q 1865, but there isn't a Mary nor a HALL in the list of names for the same registration.

I have a feeling they might have been married in Scotland, maybe thats why they cannot be found?

I had a look on Scotlands People, but nothing under that spelling.
I also tried Syme, but nothing there either.

Statutory registers start in 1855, so if it was in Scotland it should be there.

The spelling differs from Sime Simes Syme Symes :D

They have also been mis transcribed as Lime

I have a few Simes on my tree too - from Leith. There's loads of spelling variations lol
