I want to order a copy of a marriage cert from Epping Register Office -

Births, Deaths, Marriages & Civil Partnerships

but cannot see any instructions as to how to go about it.

I know I can contact them tomorrow, but I wanted to do it now! :D

I've tried Essex County Council website, but that just links back to the above page.

Can anyone see anything I have missed, please?

    Thanks

In my experience Joan, apart from the central London ones who won't do certs, all the others don't give details on the site how to do it. If you ring them to ask however, they all seem to say the same. Write with details of cert required and that you want it for family history. Include a SAE for return and a cheque for £7 made out to The Registrar.

      Thanks for that Chrissie.

I have only ever used 2 local register offices before :o and they both had on line forms - so I was a bit puzzled

I'll write and include an SAE

      Thank you

You're welcome Joan . I usually add that I believe it to be my Gt Gt ...... or whatever. I had forgotten about the ones that you can order with a form on line. I have only come across one of those before.
