  • Relatives missing from census

I've come to a bit of a full stop on 2 great uncles...the first was born in Liverpool in 1885 Albert Edward Barker, second Nello Barker born in August 1886 (parents Lily and Alfred).
I do know that Albert died in Sale in 1906 and have his death cert.
Neither Albert or Nello appear to be on the 1901 census although their other family members are showing in Timperley Cheshire (apart from their father who is also missing - he was a merchant seaman and so could have been at sea) From what what age could they join up in those days? Seems young for Nello to have been in army/navy? Could they have been at sea with their father, if so how can I find out?
    Any ideas welcome

    Researching:
    Barker - Hale, Cheshire/Leeds
    Greatorex - Winster, Derbys
    Rudd - Richard's Castle, Herefordshire
    Oakes - Liverpool
    Ormerod/Stott/Crabtree - Oldham/Rochdale

Thanks - I do have all his details from WW1. He died of septicaemia from injuries sustained - It's the 1901 census mystery that's puzzling me...

I don't seem to be having any luck! Have typed the reference into ancestry.co.uk census search but nothing coming up! What am I doing wrong? (Have tried both Wales and Enland census!)

Try going to the Welsh 1901 and put their names in instead....

                Nells Barker (there's only one!)

Albert E Barker (again, only one!)

I didn't think William the Conqueror did a census as well as Domesday Book :D:D
