Thanks for trying Wendy and Herky.

He is my great grandfather and I am beginning to get very annoyed with him! :(

I am really puzzled with the 1891 census, which was taken on 5th April - as on the marriage certificate on 11th April 1891 both bride and groom give their place of residence as Astley Bridge. Presumably the bride did a bit of quick travelling because she is down on the 1891 census, six days earlier, living with her parents in Hednesford, some 85 miles away.

I can't find him yet, but just wondered if he gave an accurate age on the marriage cert?

Also, Shawbury was actually in Shropshire, not Staffs!

Sorry I meant Shropshire not Staffs! :o
Age on MC - full age! :(

On the 1891 census there is a Whitfield family in Astley Bridge - Joseph Whitfield + family.
I am pretty sure this is Isaac´s brother - just seems very odd they married there and not in her own village of Hednesford.

                  Thanks for trying everyone.
