  • Note down what they say!

Did I think Mum was immortal? I certainly thought I would remember everything she told me.

One story was that her father, a village policeman, had to guard some bodies, victims of a plane crash. Information as vague as that can't really be followed up.

Then I found an article about what seemed to be that plane crash!

When I queried it with my aunt, she blanked me out and implied I'd got everything wrong.

Yesterday, I was doing a bit of tidying up. I found a pile of odds & sods. Knowing that I ought to just chuck them, I looked at each item and found.... a description of the policehouse, together with the dates they were there!

Not only that, there are lots of other details that I swear I don't remember hearing before.

I'm feeling remarkably lucky, but very foolish as well. Though I don't think I'll tell my aunt. I wouldn't appreciate My neice telling me I'd got my facts wrong!
