  • How do you explain this one??

in 3Q of 1877 I have a Joseph Moravia Samain marrying at Islington 1b 472
to Charlotte. But - which one?

    Charlotte Sarah Nye - Islington - 1b 472 - 3Q 1877 OR
    Charlotte Jane Whittemore - Islington - 1b 472 - 3Q 1877
    Help please

The 4th person on the page is Arthur Bean

The 1881 census has Arthur Bean with wife Charlotte Jane
    RG11; Piece: 1386; Folio: 73; Page: 11; Line:

    - so I would suggest tracing Charlotte Sarah Nye back in the earlier census to see if you can match her place and year of birth with a later census.

If the married name and the first name combination is an unusual one I often look for deaths for both women (if they would be old before say 1920!) with the married surname. Doesn't always work, but does sometimes!

There is a death for Charlotte S in 1911.

Thankyou all for that help, I guess I was so confused to find two Charlotte's with the same reference number for the marriage my brain stopped working.
The way you sorted it all out was really so easy - wish I had thought of it!!!!!!!!!!
              Much appreciated
