empty shoebox!

Hi All,

My shoe box on ancestry was fine yesterday, today I find it has been emptied, this happend to anyone else?

Yep - mine is empty as well. I don't often use it but I know I had a couple of things in there that I was following up a day or two ago.

Lets hope it's just a glitch then, we might get them back.

The annoying thing is that you cannot save certian ancestry pages now and the only convenient way is to shoebox it instead.

I'm really peaved about this!

Me neither. I have never used the shoebox.

You know when you have your search results? then you look down the results and you think um, I'd like to have a look at that, so you click on it and you see the household, with an option to see the original image, well I like to save the 'household' reults page by clicking on my page tab on the tool bar of my browser and selecting save as.

My explanation is as clear as mud a I suppose?

I understand what you mean - I would probably look at it there and then and decide if I want to copy it or not.

About the only time I use the shoebox is if I am going through a lot of different census sheets for a family - I might stick them in the shoebox so I can get back to them easily - but if I do that I would then normally clear the shoebox before logging out. If its something I want to keep permanently then I wouldn't leave it in the shoebox.

Yesterday my personalised Home Page disappeared, a complete blank. It's back today though!

I went looking for mine when I first read this thread but couldn't remember what it was I had used it for or if I had deleted it so wasn't surprised to not find anything.

Ive just looked again, it's back & I realise I used it for a couple of lookups for friends. Saves confusing me on my computer.
