  • 1841 Census

I'm trying to have a look at Frith Street, Soho, London on the 1841. I have some credits with Findmypast so I did an address search which brought up 59 schedules. I had a look at the first one and made a note of the piece, book, folio and page no, so that I could then go back to Ancestry and have a look at the whole street. But, when I put the reference 730/2/9/10 into the 1841 search box on Ancestry it couldn't find the schedule. Are the references different between Findmypast and Ancestry? I tried searching using the people on the Findmypast schedule and that didn't work either :o

The references should be the same Georgette.
I'll take a look for you.

Thanks, Elaine. I have been having a few problems recently with Ancestry telling me it can't find things that I know are there, so maybe that's what's happening this time too.

Strange - it didn't work for me either! :D:D

On ancestry do a search for Sophia Durant b 1816 - only two come up one of which is in Soho. She is the first house on Frith Street.

One of the references must be wrong as FMP has got Folio 9 and Ancestry has Folio 8.

It worked!! You're a star, thank you, Elaine. I really didn't fancy trawling through the whole district looking for Frith Street
