Taskbar - my date is hiding!

When I hover over the time display in the bottom right corner of my screen, the date is no longer displayed.

Can someone please tell me how to get the date to display properly again?

Hi Gillian if you place the cursor on the top of the blue segment you should get a double arrow, pull the cursor up, mine is three spaces wide and gives Time, day, and date.

Can't see anything in "help" but the first thing I would try is restarting the computer and see if that sorts it.

Thanks James - your method worked but the deep taskbar would be a bit too wide for my liking on a longer term basis.

Thanks Kate - I did as you suggested and the date has returned! It has happened a few times lately so I must be pushing a wrong button somewhere.
