I have John SMITH aged 40 and a pipemaker liveing in St. Margarets, Leicester in 1841 bit not born in Leicester. He is with the following:

Ann his wife aged 35 and children

    Elizabeth aged 14
    William aged 12
Charlotte aged 10 - mt great great grandmother
    John aged 7
    Louisa aged 3

I'd dearly love to find them in 1851 to find a place of birth for John and Ann so any help would be much appreciated!!!

Are you sure? Right age, right occupation etc? What leads you to think that isn't the right one?

Going back to 1841 again, I cannot find another family with a dau called Louisa (aged about 3) where the father is John in Leicestershire.

          Hi Merry,

Would you be kind enough to send me the details please?

          Thanks,

                John Smith 1851

My John Smith was definately a pipemaker in 1841. On his daughters marriage certificate in 1860 he is down as a pipemaker, deceased.
