  • Boys' Home in Southwark Street, St Saviour

Can anyone tell me anything about a Boys' Home in Southwark Street, St Saviour, London? I have found a relative there in 1901, but can't find anything to tell me why he might have been there. The family home was in Cheltenham, Glos, and both his parents were alive (with their other children at home), so he wasn't there as an orphan. The enumerator's description gives it as an “Industrial Institution”, and it's obvious some of the boys were learning a trade, but my relative (age 17) is just entered as “Cleans House”. Any ideas?

PS I've tried the Wiki, but can't find the answer there.
