You choose your brickwalls, tell us what you know and what you want to find out. One brickwall per post, but as many as you like. And you post them all on this thread, which has been stickied so it stays at the top.
Linda - this is your thread for the week. Just put up any research queries/brickwalls that you need help with - all on this one thread. Probably best just to put up just one or two to start with or else you will find that the answers get very muddled. When we have done what we can to help you with those queries, then post the next one ... and so on.
hi everyone. I have only this brickwall at the moment and is benjamin moffatt born 1856 in manchester, i can only find him on the 1871 1881 1891 and 1901.
In the 1871 census he is a boarder living in Preston Lanacshire with the Pearsons . 1881 he is married to ann with children Elizabeth and Sarah in 1891 still in Preston with a lady Harriot Laraway in 1901 he is with Elizabeth Charnley who he went on to marry. I have both his marriage certs and a death cert. On the first marriage cert he has his fathers name down as John on the second marriage cert his fathers name is benjamin. I would love to find out who his parents are but cant find a birth for him. I have searched and searched the census with allsorts of variants but nothing, hope someone has some suggestions
thankyou

Hi Lindys,
Presuming you are posting this as your brickwall for the WDWTYA thread.
Can I move it over to the other thread as it will remain at the top of the board for the week.
Hi Linda.
I hope this helps as this is the only Benjamin that came up.

hi neil thanks for your reply
the first one is not my benjamin, researched this family and this benjamin stayed in manchester the second is the benjamin i have researched
linda
Well, the IGI marriage to Ann Berry fits as stepson is Bury in 1881, but I think he isn't the son of Wm and Jane as it doesn't fit info he gave on marriage cert. Probably person who submitted info to IGI got in a tangle.
according to the estimator on this site gives ranges
1871 1857-58
1881 1855-56
1891 1856-57
1901 1859-60
Of course we cannot be certain that the 1871 Benjamin is the same chap who appears in 1881, 1891. We know the 1881 and 1891 chap is the same one as the children are with him on both.
