  • Missing places in 1841?

Please could some kind soul tell me if Oswaldtwistle (Lancashire) is missing from the 1841 census?

Can't find my lot, who appear nicely in 1851 with a load of children born pre/post 1841 in Oswaldtwistle....

If I put that placename in the Keywords box I get about 8,000 records for the parish of Whalley. Would that make any sense?

Genuki says Oswaldtwistle was in the parish of Whalley and gives this piece number:
      HO107/509
      KiteRunner

Yes, Merry, I suppose it would and I ought to have known that, blush blush!

(Still doesn't explain where they are though)

Do share! I found some Emmons once, misrecorded on the actual census as Hammond!
