    Walter E Element died 18 Aug 1916, he was 19 when he died, and have his service number G/11285, 13th Bn, Middlesex Regiment, and is buried Thiepval Memorial,France. Is there any where I could find his service record on line please.

        There are photographs of Thiepval on the Wiki, under war memorials Chrissy, if you are interested in seeing the cemetery where he is buried.
        Chrissie passed away in January 2020.

            I have a photo of part of 13B - the bit with the KRRC names, including my great uncle's. I can't see ELEMENT on any of the photos, but there are huge numbers of names.

            If my photo is of any interest to you, please PM me an e-address and I'll send you a copy. I'm afraid I'm on it - because I'm pointing to my great uncle's name. I may be able to help you with specific info about the place, if you like, but the CWGC site does give you almost all you'd need. There's an excellent new visitor centre there, too.

              We all probably have a great uncle or two died at the battle of the Somme, the Thiepval memorial is for the missing, the ones they never found.
