A bit long winded sorry, but I wanted to give you all the details obtained from PR's
In tracing back Elizabeth Smalley (Smaley, Smolay, Smoley) I have found the following, this ties in with all forward records.
Baptism: 22 Sep 1689 St Wilfrids, Standish, Lancashire, England
Elizabeth Smalley - Daughter of William Smalley & Jane
Abode: Worthington
Register: Baptisms 1679 - 1732, Page 11, Entry 32
Source: LDS Film 1526140
Marriage: 17 Dec 1707 St Wilfrids, Standish, Lancashire, England
Joshua Marsden - of Standish
Elizabeth Smalley -
Register: Marriages 1679 - 1732, Page 45, Entry 1

I then found her siblings as follows:
All Sons/Dau.s Of William Smaley and Jane, all lived/died in Worthington except Richard b 1682/3 who was born in Standish but died in Worthington
Richard Smaley Baptism: 21 Jan 1682/3 St Wilfrids, Standish, Lancashire,
Burial: 5 May 1692 St Wilfrids, Standish, Lancashire, England
John Smalley Baptism: 5 Jul 1685 St Wilfrids, Standish, Lancashire, England
Burial: 11 Jun 1694 St Wilfrids, Standish, Lancashire, England
Ellen Smaley Baptism: 6 Aug 1687 St Wilfrids, Standish, Lancashire, England
Burial: 29 Sep 1701 St Wilfrids, Standish, Lancashire, England
James Smaley Baptism: 2 Sep 1691 St Wilfrids, Standish, Lancashire, England
Burial: 11 Jun 1692 St Wilfrids, Standish, Lancashire, England
Richard Smaley Baptism: 2 Sep 1691 St Wilfrids, Standish, Lancashire, England
Burial: 5 May 1692 St Wilfrids, Standish, Lancashire, England
Jane Smaley Baptism: 28 Apr 1693 St Wilfrids, Standish, Lancashire, England
Burial: 19 Jul 1696 St Wilfrids, Standish, Lancashire, England
Ann Smaley Baptism: 18 Jul 1696 St Wilfrids, Standish, Lancashire, England
Mary Smaley Baptism: 31 Aug 1701 St Wilfrids, Standish, Lancashire, England
Now this is looking good until I attempt to find the marriage of the parents William & Jane. The only marriage I can find is as follows:
Marriage: 18 Jul 1698 St Wilfrids, Standish, Lancashire, England
William Smaley -
Jane Winstanley -
Register: Marriages 1679 - 1732, Page 22, Entry 6
Source: LDS#1526140
Looking at that it would appear that they didn’t bother getting married until the last child was on the way or is there another William & Jane?.
I thought at first maybe William & Jane (1) had a son named William who married another Jane to become William & Jane (2) but the births above are to close together to suggest that. Or am I wrong?
So drawing on your experiences would you consider that they didn’t bother getting married until later or I’m going up the wrong road?
Your thoughts & ideas appreciated, thanks in advance
