Question about passenger lists on Find your past

Hi,
Last night I went on Find my past for the first time and found some ancestors of mine on the passenger lists. They were Robert Hubbard, his wife, Elizabeth and adult son John.
On the lines where it states age of each adult, and whether married or single, for all three of them it just shows
an "a" where other entries for people state their ages. Does anyone know what the "a" means?

I think it probably means "adult", Jan.
