Following on from my thread... Married at 12 ...
    The subject being Susannah Wilcox.

I know her dad is Samuel Wilcox and mum is Jane E Hustwait,

On the 1881 census ( free to search) Samuel is down as G'son
His dob is 1866 high wycombe bucks'
Could someone do a search of earlier census to try and find his parents or mother if she was unmarried.
    Thanks EDI .

Hi Edi, Unfortunately on 1871 he is still down as grandson. I can't see any parents for him, just unmarried sons and a married daughter Susannah Clark aged 29 born London.

In 1861 William and Ann also have a daughter Elizabeth who is 12.

Looks like Susannah's husband dies and in 1876 she marries a William Hankin, in 1881 she is living with him (age 42) and his mother in Hunslet. Susannah is down as Tailoress as in 1871.

Fiona Just reread the info again, the top bit about another daughter Elizabeth hadn't really sunk in Doh. So she 's another contender for his mum.
                Regards EDI

It might be the Daughter Elizabeth that is Samuel's mother, looks as though she may have married a William Barrett who according to censuses just happens to have been born in High Wycombe. Could just be a coinsidenceof course.

1871 has William and Elizabeth in Lancashire with children John and Susan.

Can't see them in 1881 but in 1891 William is living two houses down from William and Ann Wilcox, no Elizabeth but he is down as married.
