  • Don't be scared to ask

We recently discovered that my OH is related to a Charles Geen who was a founder of the Electric Light Company, and, along with his brother Henry, began to supply electricity to Okehampton (the first town in the west Country to have this new form of lighting) in 1889. We contacted the site for the ELC that we found on the net and asked if they knew if there was any further information on the brothers themselves. We had a lovely reply within hours from a gentleman who has promised to do a search for us when he next goes to where they keep all the records.
So do ask, if you don't ask you won't get

I got intouch with them and have now found out thet one of the grt uncles made a miniture steam engine that is now with a Steam Museum. They said if I'm passing to let them know and I can have a special visit.
