Right I have a Timothy Darley b 3 Sept 1820 in Hull we have him on the 1861 census living with his 1st wife Eliza Castle and her mother they married in June 1847 in Kingston upon Hull

From Family bibles etc we know Timothys father was also Timothy b 1780 and mother Mary who we have found out is Mary Winship

We cannot find Tomothy in earlier census and nothing on Timothy the father ????

I see Timothy was listed as Mariner on the 1861 census, so possibly away at sea on the 1851.

He was a seaman so that wouldnt surprise me oh yes I hve that one thanks Elaine ,,,
I also have her in 1871 with no Timothy ;;;

Not saying you are wrong Babs, but there is a tree on Ancestry which gives Timothy's parents as Timothy Darley and Isabel Ringrose.
Name of tree: Darleys Hartlepool/Australia

As far as we know he had 2 sons with 1st wife
Tom Darley b 1853 and John 1877 Tome ended up in Australia and we are now in contact with rellie from over there about this family been quite exciting so far ;;
