Just had it confirmed that Ronald Thomas Smith's mums maiden name was Smith. So she was a Smith and married a Smith. So unfortanatly the previous information was not the correct one. Can anyone please help me.

            Hi,
I looked at the Ancestry Birth images for the March quarter of 1914 and the only Ronald T Smith was the one I quoted. There are no Ronald Smiths in that quarter with the mother's maiden name of Smith. I know that Dursley is in Gloucestershire.

Where did you get the date of birth from?

The information that I have got was from my Mum - Ronald's daughter. I have just spoken to her and I now have more information. Here goes

Ronald Thomas Smith b Jan 4th 1914 - North Nibley Gloucestershire. His dad was called (she thinks) Harry Thomas Smith and his mum called Clara Kate.

Because mum is not 100% sure I would just like to find it to confirm it.

North Nibley is in Dursley District, so I've looked there, but can't see a Ronald with mmn Smith.

Well, if her maiden name was Cook rather than Smith then the birth in Q1 1914 would be the right one. Then she would have needed to marry a Smith before Harry, if you see what I mean!

If you know any siblings we could see whether they had the mmn Cook or Smith which might help confirm.

                                    I meant siblings of Ronald!

Does Muriel E K Smith ring any bells?
