I'm stuggling with some of my father's ancestors but the name Thamar keeps cropping up and I'm wondering how common the name was in the 18th and 19th centuries and if there was any particular area of the Country that it was particularly prevalent.

*Rats* :D
I was hoping that I was going to make to be able to make logical links i.e I can find a Thamar Bugg and her sister Harriott being baptised with the correctly named parents (subject to doubling checking) but I can't find an Anne Bugg with them but when Anne Bugg marries an Edmund Cozens they name their daughter Thamar.Bo
At present: Marshall, Smith, Harding, Whitford, Lane (in and around Winchcomb).

Maybe Tamar is the westcountry spelling because of the river?
