  • Help ordering a will from 1828

    Hi all,

There is an entry in the Index to Death Duty Registers for a James Clark of Rye Sussex. The court is Lewes, Register 4, Folio 642. There is a ditto mark in the next two columns but I cannot read what is written above. The year is 1828 & it is under PCC and Country Courts.

I was wondering if anyone could tell me how I would go about ordering this will. Up until now I have only ordered wills from Cardiff & I believe this one is too early.

    Many thanks for any help
    Liz

I imagine it would be at the relevant county records office.

      Thanks Little Nell,

      I'll try ringing them tomorrow.

      Best Wishes
