POINT-ISMYSPACE COULD NOT BE LOCATED IN DYNAMIC LINK LIBRARY
    MSUCR71 dll.

And also I get this error message.

    ERROR: OBJECT EXPECTED
    CODE:0

    Thank you for any help.

Does your computer normally open Internet Explorer automatically when you start it up, and take you onto MySpace? I'm just guessing from the only words I recognise in those error messages that it was trying to use Internet Explorer to load MySpace!

(Perhaps I should mention that it was me who did the title of this thread so I don't know if it's correct...)

Googling for PIFSvc.EXE says it is something to do with LiveUpdate Notice Service. If that's any help?

As for how to take a screenshot, you press the "Print Screen" key on your keyboard - then open Microsoft Paint and click on "Edit" then "Paste", then save the image. Then you can upload it to Photobucket or whatever so that you can post it up on here.

Thanks KiteRunner, I don't remember anything about myspace, I must have clicked something
I do know I do click on the live updates when asked.
Oh dear I haven't a clue what I mean. sorry, but thank you for your help I am sure it will get sorted somehow.
No Internet Explorer does not open automatically when I start up.
Thanks for info on Screenshot, I will try now.

I'm not certain if it is anything to do with MySpace or not, Margaret - I just thought it must be because of the error message saying POINT-ISMYSPACE in it, but maybe it doesn't mean anything to do with MySpace at all! I looked up that MSUCR71 dll on Google, and it looks as though it should say MSVCR71 dll but I couldn't understand the info about it. Hopefully someone else knows what it means!

MSVCR71 dll (that is the correct name), is a 'dynamic library file'
These contain instructions for programs to use.
This one is used as part of the Visual basic language that produces your buttons and dropdowns on your browser etc.

It looks like when you updated your system it overwrote this file and the new file has not the previously stored information it is looking for.

I need to know EXACTLY what application you are attempting to open when this occures,
                      Avatar is my Gt Grandfather

                      Researching:
FRANKLIN (Harrow/Pinner 1700 to 1850); PURSGLOVE (ALL Southern counties of England); POOLE (Tetbury/Malmesbury and surrounding areas of Gloucestershire and Wiltshire (1650 to 1900); READ London/Suffolk

I hope this is what you mean about a Screenshot.

From the screenshot it looks related to "Yahoo Online Protection". Do you have that installed?

                            Perhaps uninstalling/reinstalling it will help.

Do you use AOL? If not i would suggest you uninstall the AOL software.

Ah, now I see the screenshot, the error message doesn't say MySpace! Have altered the thread title to avoid confusion!
