  • Changing a Word document.

I've received an attachment for a FH file with the extension "docx" Apparently it is from Word 2007.
I only have Word 2003 and it won't open. Is there any way to open it, or do I need to get the sender to "downgrade" it?

    Thanks.

    No problem Libby

We have this problem all the time at my college.
What you need to do is install the Microsoft compatibility file.
This allows you to open 2007 format documents in 2003

Microsoft support is here to help you with Microsoft products. Find how-to articles, videos, and training for Microsoft Copilot, Microsoft 365, Windows, Surface, and more.
