It means that your PC has attempted to connect to the email server of your Internet Provider, but the surver has not responded.
Possible reason is that their email server is offline for some reason.
Friend in Swansea uses Virgin.net and her email has not worked for past three days, phoned them to be told that the server that her email address uses is 'out of action because of technical reasons' (techno speak for it's broke!)Avatar is my Gt Grandfather
