  • A fascinating site - Hidden Lives Revealed

This site shows the work of The Children's Society from late Victorian times onwards. There are lots of photos and even case files for some of the children that were looked after.

    Thanks Georgette.

I've just read the case study of a 6 year old boy sent to a home because he was at risk of developing criminal tendencies!

There are some great photos on the site!

What an interesting site. It looks to be a very useful resource for teachers, students and family history researchers. The case files contain some very sad stories and it's interesting to read the source documents. I found several homes in Essex which is a bonus for me.
