You could contact Camden Archives Camden Council: Local history
I've googled and there appear to be several references to St Silas' church and St Silas Place, Kentish Town, Pancras, but not St Silas St.
Does the birth cert give a sub-registration district?~ with love from Little Nell~Chowns, Dunt, Emms, Mealing, Purvey & Smoothy

Well it's near the church. See 2nd image on this page. Perhaps Street and Place are in fact the same as I see on the modern map Place runs up to the church.

This reproduction ordnance survey map advertised on ebay mentions St Silas Street and St Silas the Martyr's Church. May be worth trying to buy a copy in the UK

After pulling all the map sites I know ( see below)
Maps > Ordnance Survey 1:2,500 - Epoch 1 > City of London - City of London > 016 | British History Online
look at plate 10 here
The Pocket Atlas & Guide To London, Index
Baedekers Old Guide Books - London, England. 1905
Booth Poverty Map & Modern map (Charles Booth Online Archive)
And then phoning the other halfs friend who is in his 70's and knows the History of Kentish Town... like noone I know St Silas Place/St are one and the same.
The area got bombed during WW2 and alot of the local area was rebuilt in the 70's so that the houses there no longer exist.
Going back to the site Keldon pointed you to
Have a look at this page

I realise it's 7 years on, but this has just come in really handy!
2 of my husband's ancestors lived on St Silas Street, before getting married in 1926 - we were struggling to work out the street name from the handwriting - then couldn't find any street with the same name in the right area - thankyou for all your research which has finally helped us get the answer!

Glad you found it.
If you hadn't I would have suggested looking for an Alan Godrey map for the place you need. They have a large collection of maps and don't cost a lot to purchase.
There's also the British Library - www.bl.ukLast edited by JBee; 02-06-15, 12:04.
