  • Anybody got access to St Andrew Holborn marriages on British Origins?

Would you please check for a 1776 marriage between Thomas Price and Mary unknown?

    I'd be very grateful.

I thought they only had marriage licence allegations on British Origins? Have they got parish registers on there now? Ooh, I see they have, just that one parish though!

I've only just caught up with this again.

Thank you sooo much. Though the bride having same surname as groom just makes life trickier.

        I am very grateful.

FTFMK - Could you do me a favour and have a look at St Andrew Holborn for the period around 1815 -1830 for a marriage of Rebecca Elzabeth Clark/Clarke please ? Am almost certain she and her family were living in the parish but have no other details for her family and really need her parents.

A pre-1st July 1837 marriage doesn't give fathers' names. You need to find a baptism for Rebecca to get her parents.

Pallot's marriage index has a Parthania Emms or Amms marrying Jeremiah Murphy at St Andrew, Holborn, in 1803 but I can't see her in the index.

Just wondered if it was my Parthenia Emms from Gloucestershire.

Thank you so much. I discovered the Pallot reference after my British Origins sub had expired (of course). Sadly the information doesn't help to conclude it is MY Parthenia, but I think she must be connected to the family in some way.

                  Many thanks again.

Well now. I went back and sorted out my Parthenias ( I have 3) and realised I have put the wrong marriage to one of them, so sorted that out.

Went over my notes and back to familysearch and have now found a set of 6th x great grandparents, yippee!

                          Sue

How very kind of you! I had found that entry previously and looked at the microfilm of the register when I was at the LMA a while ago, but I do appreciate you looking for me.

I'm still wondering where the Price in his surname came from. I have lots of pieces but no picture to see how they fit together!

That marriage is on familysearch and gives an exact date, so I can hopefully check for witnesses when I next get to London. Thanks again!

Did you see the baptism of S P Denison on the IGI in 1775, son of Joseph and Elizabeth.

                                  The following on Boyds.

1768 / Denison Joseph / Butler Elizabeth / St Stephen Coleman Street / London

The IGI has the marriage submitted as in Southwark Surrey.

I have Joseph's death already, thanks. Bunhill Fields is a non-conformist burial site.
I'd seen the Southwark marriage - I think possibly the banns may have been called there or at St Stephen.

Anyway I've found baptisms for Joseph Denison & Elizabeth Butler's children in non-conformist registers - which probably accounts for Joseph's burial.

But the last of these children was baptised 1771 and in 1773 Joseph and Elizabeth have a child called Lydia (not sure if its the same Elizabeth, but Lydia and her siblings, including Samuel Price Denison, are all baptised in C of E churches.

There's a burial for Elizabeth Denison in Southwark on IGI - I am wondering if its the right Elizabeth? I don't get the Southwark connection at all, though the Denisons did spread to Rotherhithe, so there was some toing and froing across the river.
